British Visual Effects steal the show at this year's Oscars

Hollywood found itself captivated by the work of British Visual Effects at last night's Oscars ceremony as Alfonzo Cuarón's Gravity picked up seven Oscars- including for Best Film Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects.

This immersive, technical-achievement has changed the face of filmmaking completely, with state-of-the-art digital effects complementing first-rate acting by stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

Cuarón also stole the award for Best Director but it's obvious that his efforts were the effect of the collaborative team-work and the underlying skills of his soho-based VFX company Framestore that really made the impression on judges, complemented by his traditional Directing techniques in shaping great performances.
